IF YOU CAN'T get into Vlissingen a good alternative is Breskens on the other side of the Westerschelde. A conspicuous block flats (a more severe adjective might be used by some) will guide you in the general direction, and when closer in, the middle of the harbour is marked by a silo tower. Once inside turn to port for the yacht harbour. At normal operating times you will be directed to a berth. There is masses of space and all facilities including fuel.
When last there we were impressed to see a yacht flying the US flag from Cape Cod whose crew were spending the summer months cruising the coast of Europe. No sweat.
Close to the yacht harbour there are basic shops while the marina restaurant is more than adequate with splendid views across the Westerschelde. A bit further away the town has plenty of shopping. For convenience it takes a lot of beating.
